Publix Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU) had reached a point of growth potential that required a team of experienced leaders to help them pull it off. Finding the right people for four Chief-Level roles was the first step to kicking off their growth initiatives; with limited reach outside of Lakeland, FL, and a limited timeline for their search, Publix needed to find an outside partner with the right experience and who could get the process started quickly, without breaking the bank.

Before turning to an expensive search firm, Publix (PEFCU) was introduced to Velocity’s business model, impressed by its affordability and our previous experiences. The Velocity process focuses exclusively on listening to our client’s needs, understanding what they are looking for, and identifying the best places to look for the qualified talent they need. Velocity presented Publix (PEFCU) with our Velocity VIP solution to identify executive-level talent. In order to help Publix (PEFCU) meet their growth initiatives, Velocity had to addressthe challenges of relocation and experience level, convincing high-performing talent to consider a move to theLakeland, FL area, and quickly.

Within the first day of their Velocity VIP project, there was already a qualified candidate interested in one of Publix (PEFCU)’s c-suite opportunities.
Within one (1) week of the project start, Velocity had found Publix(PEFCU)’s first c-level hire. This snowballed into four (4) more c-level hires over the course of 30 days, solidifying a strong partnership between Velocity and the Publix (PEFCU) recruitment team and leading to three(3) additional VP-level searches. Since January 2019, Velocity has continued to support Publix (PEFCU)’s with additional VP-level and Director-level roles in I.T., HR, Finance, and Sales, depending on our expertise anddisciplined process to find talent for their expanding company.
